CERRE will host a series of private workshops to discuss ‘the Digital Markets Act: How to improve the Commission Proposal?’. Each workshop will discuss a specific aspect of the European Commission’s DMA proposal with the aim of developing a CERRE recommendation paper for the European Parliament and Council.
The focus of this first discussion will be on the architecture and process of regulation. Specifically, how obligations can be introduced and further specified by the Commission, and the implications that this may have for how they are enforced.
Participants have the opportunity to listen to an open discussion and engage with other participants, including expert academics, rapporteurs and shadow rapporteurs from the European Parliament, members of the Council Working Party for Competition, regulatory authorities, representatives of internet platforms and telecom operators.
These workshops are open to CERRE members supporting this research project. If you would like to join this project, please contact Lara Natale.
The second workshop, on institutional design and enforcement, will take place on Thursday 15 April, 14:00-16:30 CET. The third workshop, on obligations, will take place on Friday 23 April, 10:00-13:00 CET.
