The explosive development of AI technology has given rise to an industrial sea change in the digital sphere. From upheaval in established sectors like cloud computing to the emergence of unprecedented general-purpose services such as AI agents, firms, consumers, and governments are grappling with rapidly growing and highly mercurial markets. These developments pose difficult questions for European policy makers: Will these markets be competitive? And is the current acquis fit to meet the regulatory challenge if not?
CERRE’s AI Agents Ecosystems Contestability and AI, Cloud and Competition projects are at the cutting-edge of these issues, aimed at providing concrete, in-depth guidance to policy makers as to the future readiness of the EU digital acquis. Across two issue papers and two full-length reports, these projects conduct an in-depth examination of relevant regulatory and market dynamics relating to the agentic AI, and cloud and AI compute markets, respectively.
Join us online on 3 July as recommendations from both projects are presented alongside panel discussions featuring representatives from European institutions, national regulators, industry players, and the CERRE academic team.
