On Tuesday 25 May, CERRE Academic Co-Director Michael Pollitt will speak at GEODE‘s Spring Webinar “Distribution Infrastructure at the centre of the Energy Transition”.

After a keynote address from Oliver Koch (acting Head of Unit, Internal Energy Market, DG ENERGY, European Commission), Professor Pollitt will present the recently launched CERRE report “Optimal regulation for European DSOs to 2025 and beyond”, which he co-authored with Professor Monica Giulietti and Dr. Karim Anaya.

There will then be a panel discussion with speakers including:

  • Per Everhill, Public Affairs Manager, Tekniska Verken i Linköping
  • Sabine Crome, Policy Officer, Internal Energy Market, DG DNERGY, European Commission
  • Veli-Pekka Saajo, Deputy Director General, Energy Authority & Chair DS

There will also be a second panel discussion, followed by closing remarks from GEODE’s Secretary General Carmen Gimeno.

University of Cambridge

Michael Pollitt is Professor of Business Economics at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is an Assistant Director of the university’s Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG) and a Fellow and Director of Studies in Economics and Management at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Michael is an elected Vice President (for Publications) of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). He is a former external economic advisor to Ofgem.
