On Tuesday 16 November, CERRE Tech, Media, Telecom & Mobility Director, Lara Natale, will moderate the event “Balancing Fundamental Rights in Data Protection“, organised by Access Partnership, that gathers leading academics and researchers to expand the debate on data regulation, sharing ideas and recommendations on possible ways forward.
How can the right to the protection of personal data contribute to or challenge other fundamental rights such as the freedom of speech and access to information for research? This is, among others, a key priority for the world’s Data Protection Authorities, Privacy Commissioners and policymakers.
Data flows and the analysis of data is crucial to the success and operation of both private and public sector industries across Europe. How to effectively regulate data to safeguard privacy while ensuring other fundamental rights are not compromised is a significant concern to businesses, academics, researchers and those organisations dedicated to protecting our fundamental rights.
Attendees will gain exclusive access to the AP investigative paper on “Fundamental Rights, Are They Suffering from Unequal Remedies?” and will have the opportunity to discuss with leading academics and experts at our high-level panel discussion Q&A session.
