CERRE’s DG to chair EU Observatory on Online Platform Economy

  • 1 October 2018

Commissioners Mariya Gabriel and Elżbieta Bieńkowska have launched the EU Observatory on Online Platform Economy. CERRE’s Director General, Bruno Liebhaberg, has been appointed Chair of the Expert Group to the Observatory.

“I feel honoured that my distinguished colleagues and the European Commission have appointed me to chair the Observatory”, said Bruno Liebhaberg.

The Observatory is composed of 15 top-level experts from across Europe and representatives from the European Commission.

“Europe must fully exploit the potential brought by the online platform economy. At the same time, we must safeguard fair, predictable and trustable online commercial relations to consolidate the development of the European Digital Single Market,” he said. “I am confident that the work of the Observatory will inform robust and evidence-based policy to the benefit of all European citizens.”
