On Thursday 27 June, CERRE hosted its annual Summer Reception at the BELvue Museum, also marking the launch of our flagship White Paper, “Ambitions for Europe 2024-2029: Harnessing regulation to boost the Twin Transition.” This highly anticipated event welcomed distinguished guests from CERRE members and partner organisations.
The evening began with an exclusive fireside chat featuring Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General for DG CNECT (European Commission), and CERRE Executive Chairman, Bruno Liebhaberg. This insightful discussion reflected on the future of regulation in the EU through the lens of our strategic recommendations to the new European Parliament and Commission for the energy, tech, and mobility sectors. Following the fireside chat and the launch of the White Paper, attendees transitioned into the summer reception, where the beautiful setting of the BELvue Museum provided a perfect backdrop for networking.
The White Paper, authored by renowned CERRE academics, outlines nine key ambitions for the EU to achieve by 2029, emphasising the need for robust, resilient, and future-proof regulatory frameworks to address both cross-sectoral challenges and specific sectoral ambitions in Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Energy & Sustainability, and Mobility.
