CERRE Academic Co-Director Alexandre de Streel has been appointed as one of fifteen high-profile experts on the expert group to the EU Observatory on the Online Platform Economy.
The expert group is tasked with advising the European Commission on the main trends of the online platform economy, analysing potentially harmful practices and the evolution of policy measures, and assisting the Commission in the preparation of its work programme. Professor Alexandre de Streel has lead a number of CERRE research projects on the plaform economy, including CERRE’s recommendations for the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act.
Professor de Streel’s appointment comes as CERRE Director General Bruno Liebhaberg‘s mandate as Chair of the Observatory concludes.
