About

On 24 March, from 08:30 to 10:00 CET, CERRE will convene a private breakfast on the future of competition in the European rail sector. The discussion will focus on evolving competitive dynamics in rail markets, barriers to effective cross-border services, and the conditions needed to foster entry, investment, and innovation in passenger rail, notably in high-speed segments.

This exchange takes place in the context of the European Commission’s ambition to make high-speed rail the backbone of EU mobility by 2040 and to deliver fast, reliable, and attractive rail services that support sustainability and Europe’s competitiveness.

The breakfast will include the launch of CERRE’s latest Issue Paper “The Economics of the Single Ticketing Regulation in Europe”, presented by co-author Carlo Cambini (CERRE Research Fellow and Politecnico di Torino). This event will be held under the Chatham House rule and is open to members only.

If you want to know more about these sessions, how to become a member of CERRE, and have the opportunity to join these meetings, contact us.
