DG ENER, European Commission
Christof currently works in the Commission’s DG Energy as Head of Unit ENER C3 Internal Energy Market. His unit is responsible for the functioning of European energy markets as regards electricity and gas. Before joining DG Energy, Christof worked for several years in DG Competition as Head of Unit for State Aid in the energy sector and as Policy Assistant to the Director-General. Before joining the Commission, Christof practiced law with international law-firm Freshfields in Brussels, London and Milan. He holds a Masters Degree from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a PhD from the University of Bonn and is a graduate of executive education at Wharton and Harvard Kennedy School.
