Rainer Koch joined Deutsche Telekom’s EU Regulatory and Public Affairs Team in 2005. Based in DT’s Brussels office, he is mainly working on issues of the Digital Economy with a special focus on data protection, cyber security and new e-Services in the areas of Smart Cities, Connected Car and Energy.
Before working with DT, Rainer Koch followed a career as a journalist.
He has a diploma of Journalism and Modern History of the University of Münster. Amongst other assignments he worked as a foreign and EU-correspondent for the Agence France-Presse in Bonn and Brussels till 1995, when he became correspondent for the Financial Times Deutschland in the EU’s capital.
