Piers Marlow has worked in Public Transport for 36 years and joined Arriva after working for First Group as divisional director South and Wales. His career in transport began in 1978, working in different senior management roles in the Bus industry across the UK, and by the time he moved from FirstGroup had responsibility for six UK companies.
He joined Arriva in 2003 as Northern European Director covering all transport modes later extending his role to cover Germany and Central/Eastern Europe. In his time at Arriva total Piers Marlow has worked with 14 European Countries. He is now responsible for business development across Arriva’s European businesses as well as identifying opportunities for growth further afield.
Since 2014 he is also President of EPTO, the association of the European Passenger Transport Operators, whose members are the 8 largest public transport companies in Europe. Members of EPTO operate public transport services in 22 EU countries. These services are provided across modes and a spectrum of regulatory regimes from deregulation to competitive tendering.
