Professor Philippe Van Parijs is a renowned political philosopher and political economist. A Professor at the Faculty of Economic, Social and Political Sciences of the University of Louvain, he has been the Hoover Chair of Economic and Social Ethics since its creation in 1991.
He is also a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford.
He was awarded the Francqui Prize, Belgium’s most prestigious scientific recognition, and the Arkprijs voor het Vrije Woord, which honours public personalities who illustrate the freedom to speak out.
He has authored many books including After the Storm. How to save democracy in Europe.
