Petra De Sutter was elected as a Member of the European Parliament for the Green Party in 2019, and chairs the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection.
Ms. De Sutter previously worked as a professor of gynaecology at Ghent University, and as head of the Department of Reproductive Medicine at the Ghent University Hospital.
From 2014 to 2019, she held a seat in the Belgian Senate and served as member of the Belgian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council.
