Lucrezia Busa

Since July 2024, Lucrezia Busa is Head of the unit dealing with markets, competition and roaming within DG Connect.
Prior to joining DG Connect, Lucrezia was a member of the cabinet of the Justice Commissioner and advised the Commissioner on matters related to personal data protection, including international data transfers, AI, digital policy and company law.
She has an extensive experience across different Directorate Generals of the European Commission. This includes DG Competition, where she worked for ten years in the mergers and state aids departments, DG Trade as well as the Secretariat-General, where she worked as digital policy coordinator dealing mainly with media, copyright and data policy.
In addition, Lucrezia worked as in-house legal counsel for Electricite de France (EDF), dealing with company law, M&A and competition matters (antitrust and state aids) both at national and EU level.
She also has experience in private practice as a lawyer.
She graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and holds master degrees from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the College of Europe.
She was admitted to the Rome Bar in 2005.
