
Juan Francisco Jimeno Serrano

Juan Francisco Jimeno Serrano is Ph. D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been a professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and at the University of Alcalá. Since 2004 he has developed his professional work at the Bank of Spain, where he has held responsibilities as head of the Research Division, head of the Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis Division, and adviser in the General Directorate of Economics and Statistics. He is an associate researcher at the CEPR (Center for Economic Policy Research), the IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor) and the CEMFI (Center for Monetary and Financial Studies). He was President of the Spanish Economics Association in 2017, has been a consultant to the European Commission and the World Bank, and since July 2024 is President of the Spanish National Productivity Board. He has published articles on economic topics in numerous academic journals, mostly in the fields of Labor Economics, Macroeconomics and Public Economics.
