Howard Shelanski

Howard Shelanski is a Professor of Law at Georgetown University and a partner in the law firm of Davis, Polk & Wardwell. His scholarship focuses on antitrust and regulation. From July 2013 through January 2017, Mr. Shelanski served in the administration of President Obama as Administrator of the White House office of Information of Regulatory Affairs.
He previously fulfilled senior positions in several governmental bodies, including the Bureau of Economic at the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.From 1997 through 2009 he taught at the University of California at Berkeley, where he was co-Director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.
Mr. Shelanski earned his Ph.D. in economics and his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, and his B.A. from Haverford College.
